If you are a licensed real estate agent in Austin, TX, and have ever relied on appraisers, photographers, inspectors, stagers, or other real estate related support businesses, then there is a very good reason that you should know what a CBS code is, and how to obtain it for your SUPRA lock-box.

Knowing more about your SUPRA CBS code will help your support businesses to work more closely with you, and ultimately save you time and money.

Once you are familiar with your SUPRA CBS code(s), you can pass them to anyone who you want to give access to a property you represent.  Once the Affiliate has the CBS code, you no longer need to meet them at the Property.  The Affiliate can let themselves in, perform their task, and leave without your needing to be there!

AFFILIATES ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE THE CBS CODE EVEN IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE REQUIREMENT FOR CBS CODE ACTIVATED ON YOUR SUPRA BOX.

Affiliates are required to use the CBS code even if the requirement isn't activated on your Supra lock-box.  This is a precaution to ensure that only licensed REALTORS have access to the property without the CBS code.

The reason that Affiliates need the CBS code is really quite simple.... As licensed REALTORS, you have special priveledges that are not given to Affiliates, but, by giving the Affliate the CBS code to a specific SUPRA box, you are ensuring that they have permission to enter the property you represent.

The reason that some photographers don't need the CBS code is because they will get their REALTOR license which allows them to get a REALTOR SupraKey instead of an Affiliate SupraKey.  ONLY licensed real estate agents can acquire a REALTOR SupraKey.  All other affiliated businesses will be required to use the Affiliate SupraKey system AND the CBS code.

YES, YOU READ THIS RIGHT... IF A PHOTOGRAPHER DOESN'T REQUIRE THE CBS CODE, THEN THEY ARE A LICENSED REALTOR, AND POTENTIALLY YOUR COMPETITOR.

The Affiliate SupraKey works just like the full REALTOR SupraKey with one small exception.  The Affiliate must also enter a CBS (Call Before Showing) code to open the SUPRA box.

Every Supra lock-box has been assigned a unique CBS code before it leaves the factory.  The CBS code is different for every Supra Box you use.

Although every Supra lock-box has been assigned a unique code by the factory, you can reset all of your Supra boxes to the same exact code to make it easy to remember.

Obtaining the CBS code for your SUPRA box is quite easy. Here are a couple of methods to get your CBS code.

1.)  The box came with paperwork when you leased or purchased the Supra lock-box.  The code will be on a yellow sheet with stickers that contain the Supra serial number, CBS code, and Shackle code.

2.)  You can register your Supra box on the supra website at (www.supraekey.com)   Once you are registered, you can look up the shackle and CBS code at any time using the website.

3.)  Call  your local REALTOR authority (HAR, KAR, etc...) and request the CBS code for your Supra box.
